At Copper Pearl, we celebrate the incredible journey of parenting by sharing heartfelt stories and valuable insight from our amazing community. Each week, we dive into the unique experiences and memorable moments that make up the beautiful mosaic of parenthood. Through these stories, we gather and share precious “Parenting Pearls” - those little gems of wisdom that offer inspiration, support, and a touch of magic to fellow parents.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your family.
My name is Ashlyn Stacy. I am a working momma, with my masters degree! I work in medical billing and business development. I have a 7 month old baby boy, his name is Riplee! I have a wife, who couldn’t be a better partner or mom. We are located in Southern Indiana and love our little country town! We love spending time with our friends and family, being outside, and enjoying time together with our pups.
Which Copper Pearl products are your go-tos?
Our go-to products are the burp cloths! They are so much bigger and thicker than other brands! Our other favorite are the binky clips. Now that Riplee can take his binky out himself and throw it, the binky clips literally save the day! We also love the bibs, of course! They are great for the slobbery stage we are in right now!
What has been the most memorable moment in your parenting journey so far?
The most memorable moment so far has been watching my baby grow and develop. Riplee was born at 35 weeks and 3 days, only weighing 4 lbs and 12 oz. He is considered preemie, but is crushing it on the weight/height scales! It was so scary in the beginning, being a first-time momma to a preemie baby.
Ashlyn's Parenting Pearl:
Soak in every moment, even when you're frustrated or in a time crunch. It really does go by in the blink of an eye (cliche, I know). I can give an example that happens almost daily - Riplee loves to start nursing/eating then take a break to just babble and blow bubbles, like he is really trying to tell a story. It never fails that his longest stories come when we have a busy schedule, but I just listen and give him his break because nothing is more important in that moment.
What is your favorite parenting hack?
Listen to your gut - you know your baby best! Of course, ask questions and seek opinions, but ultimately you will make the correct decision for YOUR baby. Always remember that; no baby is exactly alike.
How do you find support and community in your parenting journey?
I always ask questions to people that give varying opinions. I like to see perspective in certain situations.
